CFSEE exists to provide to all Somers citizens the opportunity to work together – each contributing his/her own talents and interests – to proactively support and build up our children, our school system and, ultimately, our community.  In all we do, we strive to raise our sights from our problems to our possibilities.

Parameters

All are welcome.  Parents, teachers, administrators, town government, students, seniors, singles.  Anyone who lives in Somers will find a welcome mat here.

Be a possibilitarian: be constructive.  All CFSEE discussions/communications focus on finding positive, creative and achievable solutions to current education-related issues, as well as planning for future growth.  If you’ve got an axe to grind, this isn’t the place to bring it. 

Work with the facts.   Rumors and half-truths poison the atmosphere and shift focus away from the real challenges. CFSEE places a premium on accuracy, and makes every effort to collect, verify and report the facts. 

Consider all sides of the story.  Every story, issue, crisis has two (or more) sides.  When we examine an issue from all points of view, we’re best able to craft solutions that are highly supported and effective. In this light, CFSEE welcomes all voices on education-related issues, in an atmosphere of teamwork and mutual respect.
